Will using your service void my warranty?

No it will not void your warranty, Apple also does laser engraving, though it is only text.

How much does MacTattz cost?

Laser engraving costs vary depending on your gadget's size, surface, and other factors. Below are some pricing ranges to give you an idea of cost.

How long does it take to Tatt my Mac?

Once you have sent in the artwork and it has been reviewed we will send you a proof of what will be engraved. From there you will schedule a session which takes 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on complexity. Or if you are shipping it in, it will usually be shipped back the following day, given all art work was approved promptly. We strive to keep turnaround times swift!

Does MacTatting affect my tool in any way?

No, the engraving is purely aesthetic, it is on the surface only. There is no direct contact to the machine. The etching itself goes less than the thickness of a hair deep.

What kind of artwork is engravable?

Almost all artwork can be converted to an engravable image though some will translate better, such as vector based graphics (.eps, .ai. .cdr). When you send in your image we will analyze and mock-up the art work so you can see what it will look like on your tool.

Can I see a sample of my artwork?

Yes. You can see your art work online, we will send you a proof to approve. If you wish to see a sample on similar material to that which you are engraving, there will be an additional fee.

Can I choose what shades will appear? Or does it depend on what I am engraving?

The shades that appear will depend on the colour of the material being engraved, but the etching itself is white.
